TUESDAY TAILOR ♥ STELLA MCCARTNEY LINGERIE FALL 2013 COLLECTION

I have to say that I used to be such a hater when it came to Stella McCartney. Slowly through the years I have to also admit that I have been won over by a lot of her collections, her ethics when it comes to vegan clothing and some of her famous or key pieces. Now I did a post a long time ago on some of her panties, but now I am so loving her new Fall 2013 lingerie collection and I have added some of these pieces to my wish list. I also like the model they used in the shoot. Though she's still very thin, I love how (in some shots) she actually looks like she might have a little meat on her bones. Maybe even a tiny tummy...I prefer this to the models who are just boney and bones and have gutted stomachs. :) ♥

i love this shot.

i love this set. it has tiny little bows either printed or flocked all over it.

RMK FALL 2013 COSMETICS PART 2 ♥ DEBUT SHOW STYLED BY MASAYO KISHI

I am super thrilled to share this second part of the RMK cosmetic launch for Fall 2013 with you. If you haven't seen part one, then click here because it's a review of some of the new items that will be available this August! And they are gorgeous. Well, like I also mentioned in part one, this collection had a big launch event in Japan to celebrate the new look and vibe of the brand and for this season's collection...also previously mentioned, there is a new creative director...Kaori...who wanted the Fall makeup look to reflect the story of a New York girl who is waiting for her boyfriend in Central Park in the Autumn months. If you are not from New York or have never been there during the fall, it's one of the best times in the city. The temperature is perfect and the leaves are all turning colors. The sun isn't always so bright and you get to wear your warmer (non-summer) clothes. It's a lovely lovely gorgeous time in the city. Kaori lives in New York. And it makes sense that she wanted to ask Masayo Kishi (one of our regular Nancy Girl featured ladies and regular contributor) to style the launch/debut show for the brand/collection. And it looks like it was gorgeous! You might see similar looks in the upcoming campaign...the campaign was shot by Greg Kadel, BTW, which is a great fit.

But it's Masayo's styling at the show that I am in love with. She was nice enough to take some shots of the show to share with us. If you haven't seen her work before, you can view some other things she has done here. She's one of my top 3 stylists ever. :)

♥ MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ RMK FALL 2013 PREVIEW AND BONUS PART 1 ♥

YEA! Happy Monday, all! I am super excited to do this two-part post because it's on some really fun products and a gorgeously styled show to celebrate the new collection...from Japanese cosmetic brand RMK and darling stylist and Nancy Girl regular contributor, Masayo Kishi!

You are going to love love these products, this collection and Masayo's new work!

Recently Masayo was in Japan and was the stylist for the RMK show (which included a lot of lovely girls and their makeup from the new Fall collection) where she styled the girls for this new collection. She sent me some of the products which aren't even out yet. I thought for this post, I would show you the product first and then tomorrow, I will show you the images from the actual show in Japan with the gorgeous looks that Masayo created. That way you'll see the whole picture.

The deal is that RMK is sort of relaunching the brand. For the past 15 years, legendary makeup artist Rumiko has overseen the brand as the creative director. But now there's a new creative director, KAORI and so the brand is going to be "new new new". :)  Kaori lives in New York, and I guess the idea behind this new collection is influenced by a New York girl. (There is much more with this that I will share in tomorrow's blog post because it really explains who this new RMK girl is and what Masayo did to bring this look to life).

I have to say, I have never used anything by RMK...but now it's definitely one of my most favorite cosmetic lines EVER. The packaging, the colors and the way they look on your face is amazing. I can testify to that. These products will not be available until Fall...so keep your eye out and go sign up to the RMK site so you know when they'll be out...you will LOVE them. I promise. I know the launch date for Japan is August 18, 2013. I am not sure what the US launch date is...but it won't be long after, I assume.

Masayo so generously sent me an eyeshadow, a blush and two nail polishes (one that I've been addicted to and is my current ultimate favorite polish right now!). She also included a really cool little double-sided brush that goes with the eye product.

I love the packaging so much. The only thing is that the gorgeous silver packaging dings really easily. It's still gorgeous and chic, though.

How amazing and gorgeous, right? Look at this little eye shadow brush. you slide it from side to side. One side is for cream and one side is for powder! It's very sturdy and well made and the bristles are really high quality.

The first product is the INGENIOUS CREAM AND POWDER EYES in the color #02 Brown Beige x Brown Copper Gold Bronze...THIS IS JUST AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS! The base is a perfect peachy beige shade, looks perfect on the eyelids. I love it. And the gold brown color is really rich looking. It's very sparkly, in a good way, and looks very expensive but not overstated on the eyes. The base is on the top...you unscrew the lid and there it is. The powder is underneath...you swivel the top (base part) to the side to reveal. Gorgeous packaging, colors and quality.

Next item I received is a blush called the SHEER CHEEKS POWDER in the color #07 Natural Rose. OMG. This is the most perfect strawberry shade. It has a sheen to it. I dunno how to explain it. It's not overwhelming. It's just perfect. Even on my olive skin, this color looks amazing. I place it kind of high on the cheekbone and only on the outer of my cheeks. The brush is also amazing. Even though it's a small brush, the quality of the bristles is soft and expensive. It's not one of those brushes you would never use. I love it. It's softer than a lot of my nice brushes and it applies the blush perfectly. This is also one of my new all-time favorite products. I think this color especially would look good on everyone. You can wear it lightly or build it up if need be. There is no smell. And...it looks perfect with the shadow on your eyes. Very balanced. I also love love the packaging.

I also received to nail polishes....NAIL COLOR EX in the colors P-34 Deep Purple and EX-07 Purple Gray. I haven't used the Deep Purple color yet, but I have Purple Gray on right now. OMG (again)....this is the most amazing shade. It looks like a muddy gray purple brown with little lovely teeeeeeny sparkles in it. It looks expensive like Chanel limited shades do. Like something Lisa Eldridge would wear. The polish does chip kind of easily which I dislike, but no matter. I am still hooked on it. My current favorite. I've been wearing it for a week and I will repurchase if it runs out! See some shots of my nails below...in sunlight, it looks much more purple. But I'm def not a purple nail polish person. Even so, this works for me because it is sophisticated and rich looking or more witchy looking. It doesn't look like a cheap purple polish color is what I'm trying to say.

purple gray on left and deep purple on the right

Not amazing shots, but you can kind of tell what it looks like on my nails...

purple gray...natural light without flash

purple gray...with flash

I hope you're as excited to read this as I was to post it! You can also see some of the other colors and products from this collection here (the lipsticks look amazing!)...Just wait until tomorrow's PART TWO post with the fashion show shots that happened for the debut of this collection featuring girls styled by Masayo Kishi! You will die...they look amazing. And I'll share the story behind the collection more in that post, too. See you tomorrow! (Thanks again, Masayo!) xx

♥♥ I HEART MATERIAL GIRL MAGAZINE SUMMER 2013 EDITORIAL ♥♥

Oh how do I love thee, Material Girl magazine! I just noticed there's a new issue out...issue 22 Summer 2013...I cannot wait to get it. I wish I had every issue and I shall buy every issue that I do not own as soon as I move, whenever that is!

But here it is. I'll get the details later. I honestly thought I had already done today's post, but then realized that I hadn't. So many cool things to post up soon...we have a record give-away coming up (listen to it on the sidebar! Especially "Emo Boy"! It rules!)...and I got another box today from a friend in New York with some amazing cosmetics from RMK and even Shu Uemura! I have stories for both brands on here coming up shortly and they're not just makeup reviews! They are pretty exclusive yummy bits that you'll love to see/read! But the makeup...let me tell you...I have one of the RMK nail polishes on right now and OMG I AM IN LOVE!!! (Thanks, Masayo!) I won't tell you anymore. You'll have to wait until the posts go up. The one about Shu Uemura is amazing, too!

Okay...hope you enjoy this editorial as much as I do! I wish these magazines were out when I was 17! :) And PS...the post tomorrow might be later in the day...maybe not. But in case you don't see it straight away, it's because I had to take care of some things, I have a meeting (wish me more luck, please) and I'm returning a Clé de Peau serum I bought because IT DOES NOTHING. I'll exchange it for some other things. More on that later...

look at this cover!

♥ GIRL FRIDAY ♥ THE BEAUTY PROFESSOR RACHEL ANISE ♥

So I wanted to showcase another YouTube beauty lady that I have been loving and learning a lot from lately...she's THE BEAUTY PROFESSOR and her real name and channel are Rachel Anise. She has a successful blog, but I guess her YouTube channel is a bit newer. This girl is SMART. Just listen to her lingo. She obviously has a really high I.Q. as well as exquisite high-end, uber-exclusive taste, which I like, because you get to hear the dish on some products most of the other thousands of YouTubers never ever talk about. She's also quite pretty, in a kind of (young) Bo Derek way (she could also be a character from my novel, too), with giant saucer eyes and very pretty hair. I also love how her smokey eye day look is so wearable. I am attempting to copy this without looking like a hooker at the grocery store...she makes it look so easy. But it's really her skincare and beauty suggestions that I am obsessed with. By Terry, le Métier de Beauté, Rouge Bunny Rouge and some other ones I've never heard about are always on her faves list. If you haven't watched her vids yet or read her blog, and you love learning about the goods (the real goods) from someone who actually buys and uses these products and looks great doing so, then by all means sub to her channel AND her blog. You won't be disappointed.♥

♥ GUEST BLOGGER MASAYO KISHI & HER IRIS VAN HERPEN SHOOT ♥

Hey darlings....here is the new post from our (now regular Nancy Girl contributor) guest blogger and amazing stylist that I worked with numerous times when I was with Oyster magazine (and others)...MASAYO KISHI...

Happy New Year!

I hope you all is doing well in 2013!  Here is my new work to share with you; finally it's out in the public! This is my Paris shoot which I worked on last year for BIG magazine and irisvanherpen.com. We shot it inside of an old theater, so you can't really tell we're in Paris. Hopefully next time I'll be able to shoot the on location in Paris (where you can actually tell it's Paris).

The photographer is my favorite duo, Iolex. They created beautiful theatrical lighting per usual. Iolex' works are tasteful. Our model Suzie Bird was beautifully androgynous and has the perfect figure for Iris van Herpen.

All the Iris van Herpen pieces I worked with from this collection were heavy but very delicate and fragile at the same time. They were like one-of-kind museum pieces, obviously not easy to carry/handle. You can imagine my preparation in Paris prior to the shoot. It was not glamorous at all.

Iris' collection has been shot on celebrities like Bjork and Lady Gaga and for numerous high-end fashion magazines including  W, Vogue…too many to list…but you can check their blog here. So I was very lucky to have several looks for my shoot.

Actually, I don't get to work with such a creative artistic designer like Iris often for my shoots in New York City. I was very impressed by her craftsmanship, and it reconfirmed (to myself) why I got into fashion back in the day/in the first place. Because a lot of these fast-fashion and fashion e-commerce companies confuse me and make me question if this is my ideal (fashion) industry...I was dreaming about this: how, again, I believe it takes time (as in a long time in a career) to make great creations no matter what you do or make...to reach a certain high level of creativity. How many times/often do you/will you truly impress people with your creativity (and creations)?  This is how I felt at this time.

SATURDAY SHOW ♥ IRIS VAN HERPEN COUTURE 2013 COLLECTION ♥

Iris Van Herpen is crazy good at what she does and I think she knows it. It's obviously very McQueen....at first notice. But the more you follow this talent, the more you see her in the pieces. I think the closest thing between her and McQueen is the immaculate craftsmanship. When I look at her pieces, I think more of Thierry Mulger..not the Mugler of today but the real Mugler when Thierry himself was designing it (those were the days). I especially thought that when I saw the Couture 2013 collection, and the smiling models. I dunno. I can see these back in the day on Nadja or Linda or Christy, too. (Sunday's post will be all about vintage amazing Thierry Mugler so you can drink your tea or coffee on Sunday morning and watch the Thierry Matinee!)

Also, as a teaser I want to mention that we have another post coming up next week from Masayo Kishi and a fashion shoot she did for a very big magazine with Iris Van Herpen pieces! It's amazing as always, so stay tuned for that!

look at that cheeky stoked grin on iris... :)
