SPECIAL! ♥ VINTAGE MAKEUP WEEK!

I AM DYING. I mean, in a good way. Lisa Eldridge has really given it to us. This week she is going over vintage make up! And the history! And she has the BEST taste! She even says she's going to do some vids and blog posts on...BIBA! Now if you read this blog or have read this blog a bit, you will notice some of my most popular blog posts are the ones on the old/vintage make up...including BIBA. And you know I love a bit of fashion history and sociology here and there, too. I almost always manage to squeeze a bit of it in if I can and have the time. So I am freaking OUT about this. So all week I will be posting her videos as they go up. She started today and there are already TWO videos. And they are both amazing. You don't believe me? Just watch. x♡

TUESDAY TAILOR ♥ KAREN WALKER

First...Karen Walker is designing ballet costumes. I think that's lovely. And they must be gorgeous. But I wonder why the ballet keeps coming into play with my work. Maybe it's just because of the film Black Swan? Here's the bit on the ballet stuff (music by Stravinsky...remember...he had an affair with one Coco Chanel):

Second is the launch of the latest sunglasses to the Karen Walker site. So fun and again, love the casting and the styling and the photos. Gor-geous.♡

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ MONOTONE ROMANTICS

I don't know where I found this story...and I realize it's much more than a beauty story.....but the beauty part plays a HUGE role. It's a GORGEOUS (to me) New Romantics/Glamrock pastel story. I can't remember where I found this. I've had it in a file for a long time. But I will find out and give it proper credit because it is gorgeous. I love how they've taken things to a minimal level with the make up, but it's still extremely dramatic.  Because it's all so monotone. And of course everyone knows how I feel about big hair. :)♡

SUNDAY MATINEE ♥ MCQUEEN BACKSTAGE

IS FINALLY HERE....Remember when I did a post on the trailer/promo for the MCQUEEN FALL 2011 BACKSTAGE FILM? I wondered what it would be, when it would play. So I was surprised it was pretty short. Still, I love the promo and this longer "film"....especially what I call the "barrette helmets"... and I like what the people behind the McQueen brand have been doing to promote the brands...including the McQ girl films. Here's the film...a SUNDAY MATINEE DOUBLE FEATURE. You know....sometimes I still can't believe McQueen is gone. :( ♡
