SATURDAY SHOPPING ♥ SOAPTOPIA HEAVEN

When I went to pick up some homeopathic allergy meds this week, I discovered a really nice artisan soap company called SOAPTOPIA. Well, whenever I go anywhere and there's a big table of freshly-cut, handmade-looking soaps, of course I have to take a sniff and a feel. I have extra sensitive skin. Not sure why. I'm olive-toned on the lighter side with a hint of pink from my mother. And lately, a lot of product makes me itch. It really has to be pure and/or moisturizing. I purchased a square of their CREME VANILLA SOAP BAR...it smells heavenly, if you like vanilla. It's a different vanilla...smells very Tahitian to me.

CREME VANILLA SOAP BAR FROM SOAPTOPIA.COM
A long time ago, a boyfriend of mine had brought me back a bunch of Tahitian vanilla stuff from Tahiti whilst on his deep sea diving trip. And I never forgot that scent. This is what this bar smelled like to me. Not too bad to take a bath and think of Tahiti, right? :) (On their site, it says, "An elegant handmade soap with all natural Shea butter and rich Madagascar Vanilla oil"...which is pretty close maybe?) Plus, the texture is smooth smooth smooth. And...I didn't itch or dry up afterwards AT ALL. In fact, I also forgot to put lotion on my legs one day, which is unheard of. I was and am hooked. The next time I went to that market, I picked up a bar of something lemon-y...smells a bit like a fresh lemon curd to me. After looking at their site, I think it's the LEMON ROSEMARY SOAP BAR.

It's also really nice. I haven't used it yet to see if it's going to make my skin itch, but I doubt it. Soaptopia says their soaps are made with love...or here is what the site says:

Our soap is all natural and handmade in small batches with lots of love and only the finest ingredients consisting ofItalian Olive oil, wildcrafted Shea butter, Coconut oil, Palm oil, Avocado oil, Organic Hempseed oil, plant infusions, Madagascar Vanilla Oil and LOVE!

Here are some other soap "flavors" I'd love to check out:

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW SOAP BAR- THE "LUCKIEST SOAP" WITH ROSE, GERANIUM,CITRUS, LAVENDER, AND MINT
SCOUT IN THIN MINT...I THINK THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO SMELL LIKE A GIRL SCOUT THIN MINT COOKIE (CHOCOLATE AND MINT AND HEAVEN)
PETALMINT PATTY (LIKE PEPPERMINT PATTY FROM THE PEANUTS!) SOAP BAR...WITH ROSE AND PEPPERMINT OILS. SO PRETTY.
There are so many other soaps I could list here. But you'll have to check it out for yourself on their site. They have a soap-of-the-month club, too, which sounds awesome. They were so gracious when I emailed them, inviting me to come in and check out the operations. And I intend to. But I got very sick these past couple of days, so maybe I'll have to make that a separate post. Maybe I can coax them to create something for Nancy Girl.

I am not sure if they ship world-wide, but these soaps are really lovely. It's a little luxury I think everyone can afford. I mean, in these days when money is sometimes tight, almost anyone can afford to at least buy a nice soap so when you are in the bath, you can luxe and lavish yourself and escape into Soaptopia. :) Oh, most of these bars are $6.50 each. But they also come in boxes and gift sets, etc. They do have a slew of other products I'd love to try first before I write about them, including body salves, bath salts and organic perfumes!♡

GIRL FRIDAY ♥ WE HEART MODEL CLAUDIA DEVLIN ♥

If you've been watching and enjoying the vintage make up posts with videos from the lovely lady Lisa Eldridge, no doubt you have been wowed by the lovely girl model featured in the videos. She is so so so very much NANCY GIRL that I figured it best to do a Girl Friday post on her. She's really the type of model I love, too. I especially love the girls who look like mystical forest creatures. :) Clearly she's very young, like a lot of models...and she belongs to Premier, which I have already done a posting on. No doubt she's gotten a lot more attention since the videos went up as Lisa Eldridge is such a renowned make-up artist. You can see her deets here ...but I thought it would be nice to see some of her other work. When I look at her work, it looks really prolific...she can look really young and strange and a little older and very old world. In any case, I do have a lot of people to plug into the Girl Friday post. But it's probably a great time to showcase Claudia Devlin (which is also a great name)...good luck to her. We love her. I hope she gets tons of work! AND PS CLAUDIA (AND HER MOM) READ THIS BLOG. And they are as sweet as sweet can be.♡

I found this really lovely video below featuring Claudia Devlin...it's a year old, but it's still so pretty I had to feature it.

SPECIAL! ♥ MORE VINTAGE BIBA MAKEUP!

I'm totally surprised. Not only do we have a couple new videos back-to-back from Lisa Eldridge on vintage cosmetics....but she's made one of them ANOTHER look with BIBA make up! I LOVE watching these. And I'll probably watch them at least 1000 times. I especially love this look...it's a look I haven't done in a really long time because it's not something I can do everywhere for everything. But a few years ago when all I did at night in New York was go from event to event to party to party, I had a lot of opportunities to be dressed in my best. And I did do a very orange-copper halo around my eyes just like this. But only using one color. And I think everything I was wearing was black usually...so I'm happy she's showing us something similar. By the way, links to the other videos in Lisa Eldridge's Vintage Make Up series are below...♡

PS...SOME OTHER STUFF NOT MAKEUP (IT'S A RAMBLE SO STOP HERE IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE): I am also planning, maybe, to start another blog that has more writing. This blog hasn't really been a good example of my writing. I don't write this way in my magazine stories. Nancy Girl is meant to be fun and informative for a specific girl or boy. The new blog would still talk about fashion, maybe, or other things, but I'd be writing more. I dunno. We'll see. Blogs are strange. Especially if you're writer. And a secretive ninja kind-of writer at that. Because on the web, you really need to open up a little bit  and you have to also hope that people give a s♥♥♥ about what you're writing. I will keep you posted, but I might start it a little sooner than I thought. I'd also love to give any advice I have about doing the things I've done to anyone starting out. I also know a lot about art, too, and might even start an art blog. Though blogging takes so so long. Really. I pretty much ramble on here and it still takes a while. :) So we shall see. x
