WED BAG ♥ LANVIN'S GETTING HAPPY

Thank God that Farfetch.com can shoot a bag with a really amazing outfit. The outfits I see on other sites are HORRENDOUS. THIS is doable, wearable, hot.
I adore the style and size of the LANVIN "HAPPY" BAG. I also love the name. Especially today. I did finish a lot of things I've been working on for the novel, but it still wasn't that great of a day yesterday. So I was super happy to see this bag and thought it might be a good way to start off this day. I think I love it so much because it reminds me of my favorite vintage Valentino, which I show on this post. It's around the same size, it has the same-ish chevron stitching...almost the same chain strap. This bag is really gorgeous and you could use it until you were a grandma and then your daughters and grand-daughters (or sons) could also use it and it will never go out of style. I only wish they didn't do that silly ribbon thing. I think that makes it look cheap and I have no idea why Alber thinks that ribbon thing should be a staple of Lanvin. The bag sells on Farfetch.com for under $2000. You could buy a used car or you could buy yourself this bag...hmmmm.♡

TUES TAILOR ♥ NEW CDG EAU DE PARFUM

Just in time for the holiday, Rei Kawakubo has unveiled a new fragrance, Comme des Garçons Eau de Parfum...in the strangest melty bottle that reminds me a lot of Dali. The bottle, apparently, is a copy of a rejected bottle. Something that was deemed unacceptable is now given the spotlight and revered for the beauty of its imperfections. Which I love. The scent is even more strange: Aldehydes, Safraleine, Hawthorns, Lilac Flower oxides, Industrial glue, Brown scotch tape, Musk, Styrax...say what? There will be some new films coming out that were made to promote this fragrance. Can't wait to see them. I'm sure they'll be amazing. This is another item you could buy for someone incredibly snobby and hard to buy for. It's really like a piece of art...with a smell to it. :) Available through Dover Street Market.

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ ILLAMASQUA XMAS

I continue to be thoroughly impressed by the impeccable branding of ILLAMASQUA. It's the new kid on the block and it's clearly going to take over. I think when MAC started blowing up (I have no idea when they first landed, but I do remember how huge MAC was in the 90s), they had sort of the same bad-boy image...the same fresh, new outlook on make up as Illamasqua does now. But MAC seems so passé now...even though they do have good product and a great selection of colors. I think their packaging is still very....90s....as is its branding. This video for the Illamasqua Freak Masquerade Ball (during Halloween in London) is also a great look at what their mission is. The brand is only three years old! They also show (at the end) the launch of counters in a couple of department stores (going to be a mad house once it goes to New York). I don't own anything from them yet as I would want to go to a counter and be assisted by one of their makeup freaks. I can't wait to check them out.♡

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ HARAJUKU LOVERS

Admittedly, I'm not nor have I ever been a Gwen Stefani fan or follower. I'm not hater, but I would never buy anything from L.A.M.B. or anything else that she does/has done/has produced (though I think she's a genius business lady). BUT BUT BUT....recently...I saw the Harajuku Lovers perfumes in person and was really surprised at how cute they are. Admittedly, again, I am a big collector or used to be anyway of kitsch. And one of the things I love and can never figure out why they don't come back with fun things like this is the old/vintage Avon products that looked like little dollies and cakes and things but had fragrance and makeup inside. They're designed amazingly. And if you are a kid at heart like me, then you love them, too. Or maybe you just love the 60s and 70s as I do. I prefer them to a lot of the new things I see. These Harajuku Lovers were so cute with cute faces and flocked hair. I was curious about them because apparently one of them has the greatest coconut scent or something. (I still don't know which one it is.) And I think they could make a really good gift for some people or some young girls. And for Christmas, they've introduced some limited edition versions...one being the HARAJUKU LOVERS JINGLE G...which is so so cute. And would look so adorable hanging on your Christmas tree! I think there are some other things for Christmas, too...I'll include photos of the most amazing HARAJUKU LOVERS WICKED STYLE GIFT SET that comes in the most amazing case for only $100! I just hope they come out with some Harajuku Lovers lip balms in cute packaging. And I think the Jingle G is only $25.

HARAJUKU LOVERS JINGLE G! YOU CAN HANG THE PACKAGE ON THE LEFT ON YOUR TREE.

THIS IS THE HARAJUKU LOVERS WICKED STYLE GIFT SET...
THIS IS THE CASE WHEN IT'S OPEN..WHICH REVEALS ALL THE FRAGRANCES IN THE SET. SO AMAZING.
THE BACK OF THE CASE.
THESE ARE THE FRAGRANCES YOU GET IN THE LIMITED EDITION SET.
THERE'S EVEN ITTY BITTY HARAJUKU LOVERS NAIL FILES (ONLY $4) AND TWEEZERMAN HARAJUKU LOVERS TWEEZERS!

These are the things I always want to create (recreate) that no one ever does anymore...but Gwen did. And she's making millions off of them! And she's got me wanting to buy her stuff now, which is totally unreal. I never thought....♡
