TUES TAILOR ♥ PETER JENSEN FALL 2012/13

I don't know where Peter Jensen was going with this styling and collection...but, if anything, I think there's a TON of tongue and cheek going on. :) It's funny to see more or less...and there are a few nice little things tucked away in there and even some have those bunny ears we love from Mr. Jensen.♡

i love that sweater and the hat!

this is some crazy v. westwood styling! i love that sweater and will try to buy it when it comes out! it has all the peter jensen logo bunnies all over it!

there's something interesting and fresh about this shot.

hat and bag, please!

 (hi, leomie!)

i also love this look and the hat of course. or, is that a hat?

more coverage later today!!!

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ NARS @ MARC JACOBS

I know we couldn't really see the faces too well under those giant mink hats at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 show (the hats were made by Stephen Jones and his head of atelier, my dear old friend Adele Mildred-who also drew the girl for my logo...I'll see if I can get her to do a guest post. She's been so busy since she went to London)...
Anyway...we couldn't really see the faces, and that's why I thought I should do a post because the makeup was actually gorgeous and overseen by François Nars himself...so you know the make up and the colors were GORGEOUS. Here is a bit from the style.com page about the beauty aspect to the show:

would you love to have this so you could frame it and hang it on your wall? i would. that's clearly christy turlington's face...!

Since Jacobs' wide-brim chapeaus covered a good quarter of models' faces, makeup maestro François Nars' job was similarly subdued. "The hats are very overpowering," Nars admitted, although that didn't deter him from inserting his own bit of "romance with a touch of decadence." Referencing the 1920's and Marchesa Luisa Casati, the face painter mixed the black shade from his Eyeshadow Duo in Panda (i think it might be pandora?) with his Eyeshadow in Bali to create a smoky "round" eye that he described as "really dreamy but sad, in a way." Skin was left purposefully bare—"no blush, no lip, just pale and very dewy," said Nars, who added a strong eyebrow and an even stronger lower lid, which he rimmed with his Eyeliner in Black Moon. "I'm using lots of mascara," he added, focusing on the lower lash line—a detail that was just barely visible beneath the headgear that Lindsey, Alana, Frida, and co. donned on the runway. At a Marc Jacobs show, every little detail counts.

i think you can get those hair clips at Ricky's in NYC.

i think this is like a spin on heroine chic from the 90s...and i think that's when the NARS makeup brand launched, too. just a thought...

i love this and esp the color of the lip!

hi, lindsey!
cute hair...

they don't have a credit on the site, but i am pretty sure this is FRANCOIS NARS.

SUN MATINEE ♥ MARNI X H&M BY SOFIA

I used to be a hater of Sofia Coppola...this was eons ago before Lost in Translation. Maybe just after The Virgin Suicides which I love now, too. Then I fell in love with everything she did/does. I haven't had a chance to see any of this stuff for the H&M X Marni collab. But I think it's nice to watch. Even though it's all very simple, I think she does it well and I think she knows what girls want to see and gravitate toward. If my book every became a movie, she is definitely on a list of dream people I'd love to see work on it. Dreams. :)

The last video is from the party in Los Feliz (California) and it's amazing how many huge huge actors showed up...including Winona Ryder...we never see her at parties at all anymore. And legendary Bryan Ferry performed the song that plays in the commercial. I mean, that's crazy. If you don't know who Bryan Ferry is, check out some Roxy Music below. Amazing.♡

SAT SHOW ♥ RED VALENTINO FALL 2012

RED VALENTINO...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? I seem to be a little late on this Valentino train. I had no idea there was a little little sister in the Valentino mix with a label called RED VALENTINO (the dress in that link is amazing!) and a price tag that's not cheap, but accessible (maybe perhaps on a good payday or a good sale day). I couldn't decide which outfits to feature on here as I loved all of them. I also love a sexy long sock with a cute dress....esp in black. And I wish I owned all of these little bonbon dresses. I also love the branding as it still looks very Valentino but def a younger, much younger, version of the glamour girl. These were part of New York Fashion Week which seems even more confusing to me. But oh well. I still love the RED VALENTINO FALL 2012 collection and I'll be working on landing some of these (or current) pieces. RED btw, is the trademark color of Valentino. But it also stands for "romantic eccentric dress"...which I like.♡

can you see the grown-up version of this dress? you've seen it in the shows many times. esp in the couture shows.

love

love love love love

so love...

i love it.

this is a gorgeous little sweater dress!

little baby version of older valentino. i have a vintage gunne sax dress that looks a lot like this and it's very flattering.

the dress i hope to own!

BELOW ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS I LOVE FROM THE CURRENT COLLECTION FOR SALE ON NET-A-PORTER...

these bow-embellished leather sandals with that gorgeous label are only $295. i might need these.
this mesh-yoke taffeta dress is $1150, but i bet it will go on sale. it's amazing.
