I'm in the mood for a good old Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Tony Randall film...LOVER COME BACK was released in 1961 and has great fashion, great interior design...and is very light hearted. Perfect for a Sunday. I know all of her movies by heart...if you don't then you need to have a watch...esp if you love fashion or interior design or both. SPECIAL ♥ AMY DAVIS AND JON MORITSUGU'S GRAMMY NIGHT! ♥

Sooooooo....a bit ago, my dear friends and life gurus, Amy Davis and Jon Moritsugu (whom I have posted about on here many many many times...click on each "many" to see the posts), sent me an email to say hello and that the video they did for TV ON THE RADIO's song NO FUTURE SHOCK (okay..officially for TV ON THE RADIO...not like they did it for fun...it was the real deal YO)...got nominated for a GRAMMY!!!!! NOT ONLY THAT, but they were in the same category/going up against BEYONCE, FOO FIGHTERS as well as KINGS OF LEON AND A TRIBE CALLED QUEST...(for long form video). That's MA-JOR. I was so thrilled for these creative geniuses and asked if maybe perhaps they could do a report or a fashion report or a "from the Grammys" kind of thing for the blog...and they did! :) 

The captions below are written by Amy and/or Jon...which is also amazing. :) What I especially love about these is if you ever saw or read Paper magazine when Amy had her illustrated Style Fiends column, you would remember how much detail about the makeup she'd throw in there.

At the Pre televised show...the FOO FIGHTERS had just nabbed OUR GRAMMY and I am holding back the rain...hahahahha

JON HITS THE ROUGE RUG!WE MADE IT RAN 4 BLOCKS and nabbed our spot in HISTORY!

Me rockin  the red carpet in  COUTURE by LILY of the WEST... Tabitha Simmons booties and copper beads(owned by COCO CHANEL made by Orren Davis for Jonny...I NABBED EM!)....LIME CRIME lipstick mix of "NO SHE DIDN'T" and"AIRBORNE UNICORN"....and a crazy ass pose...

AT HOME FASHION FREAK OUT...LOOKS that DID NOT MAKE THE RED CARPET...Me in VIVI of SANTA FE...I wore it but just not to The Grammys...

Jonny's LOOK that did not make it...OK the suit pants+ Creeepers  made it AND BRAIN BURGER made it to the AFTER PARTY:)

STY-LEEEE! I will be having an album give-away for you coming up! Amy and Jon sent me some buttons and one of their new band T-shirts (for Low On High that you can check out and buy here) as well as a CD that I can give away...read about the band and check out the songs here...they RULE! 

I also told them that even though they didn't win a Grammy, they kind of did win a Grammy because how many people you know even get nominated for a video on the Grammys???♡

THURS SHOW ♥ THE LV ORIENT EXPRESS

YEARS and years ago when I was an editor for a few magazines, I so so wanted to do a fashion shoot on a train across the country in the same style as The Orient Express....so imagine how excited and freaked out I was when I was watching the Fall Winter 2012/2013 Louis Vuitton show?!?!? Let me say this:

If you are traditional, this collection is not for you...

If you are into Michael Kors, this collection is not for you...

If you don't like vintage, this collection is not for you...

If you are afraid or uncomfortable to step out of the box, this collection is not for you...

If you hate to see fashion move forward, this collection is not for you...

If you hate hats and bags and big shoes, this collection is not for you...

If you think being fashionable and sexy means wearing nothing and showing everything, this collection is not for you...

If you think fashion is about doing what everyone else says to do, this collection is not for you...

If you like beige shift dresses and that's a wild time for you, this collection is not for you...

If you can't see a time when women (and men) really took the time to actually wear things that looked a lot like this and layered outfits like this and wore big ass hats and gloves like this, this collection is not for you. 

Really...if you can't see the vision, then this collection is not for you and will never be for you. 

IT IS, however, for me and if i had a lot of cash to throw down, I would be investing in so many of these pieces. I've also included the gorgeous Edwardian hats that Stephen Jones (and my amazing good friend Adele Mildred) created for the show. I think they were totally totally amazing. And I will own a pair of those giant round sunglasses. Those are for me.♡
