MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ CHANEL BY MAIL

I ordered a couple of things from the chanel.com site directly for the first time. And I was really pleased when they arrived. I like how the Internet has opened this part up in the luxury world. You can order directly from Louis Vuitton or Marc Jacobs or Chanel...and expect to open up a really lovely little package with all the whistles and bells. And then some. I ordered the Soleil Tan de Chanel (the bronzer) and Lift Lumière (the foundation). They also included a sample of a great moisturizer and a mascara (woohoo!). But what I really loved was the little black Chanel drawstring bag it came in and the white tissue with all the Chanel logos all over it. :) Will be ordering again. Very soon. :) I will review the bronzer once I used it. You can read why I ordered the Lift Lumière here.♡

SUNDAY MATINEE ♥ SQUARE PEGS

Do people talk about Square Pegs ever? It was a short-lived show. I can hardly remember it. But being so little, I did love it. To me, aside from the hype that Sarah Jessica Parker was in it, it's so so so so the epitome of 80s. Even the opening credits, which I could not find because apparently the copyright on that is so major, they don't have too many episodes online. It's the part of the popular Valley Girl (do you all know that song by Frank Zappa featuring the voice of Moon Zappa?) played by a very famous Ricky Nelson's daughter. I found the pilot...the opening credits aren't the same as the real show's opening credits, but close. I guess I've been in this mood of watching old stereotype American high school stuff because the novel I have coming out is a centered around high school. More info soon.

Okay...below is the "performance" of Valley Girl on Solid Gold...the fashion is amazing on these dancers!

the new wave kid/geek on the show has a rat tail! that was a major thing kids did or teens did back then. even the 20-somethings! that's why i included this photo.

Happy Sunday!♡

SATURDAY SHOPPING ♥ MOSCHINO PETS

I have been searching high and low for some great, awesome, gorgeous I-love-love-love dog collar and name tag ever since I got my little girl Lotte eight months ago. Though she was only two pounds then and now she's just under seven. It's a strange market. It's a market I might go into because there is a lot of cute stuff, or some cute stuff, and then there's a load of junk. And over-priced junk at that. I don't have a clue how I found it (and I was a little late on the train as these came out last year?), but I stumbled upon something about Moschino launching some limited edition pet pieces for charity with yoox.com...MOSCHINO PETS. To my amazement, not only were they still on the site BUT THEY WERE ON SALE. Still a bit pricey. But it's a dog. It's not like she'll grow out of a collar or something. Much better to invest in a couple super lovely pieces rather than buy a bunch of junky ones that get dirty and wear down. It was so hard to decide, but I finally chose the collar with the gold hearts and the "gold" heart name tag to go with it (it also says Moschino on one side of the tag). But I love the white resin bone "bow tie" and the red heart dog tag, too. I also really would love the matching heart leash. But I can't tell if it's for a bigger dog (small dogs, in case you did not know, can't have some big heavy leash hanging from their necks). But I'm going to keep eyeballing them until they go lower on sale and then hopefully I can get the heart leash as well as the bow/bone tie set, too. With the red heart. Oi vey. :) She deserves it, though. (I will add photos of said lovely baby dog Lotte as soon as the order arrives!) OOPS...I just checked and I can't find the dog tags! I can't believe they'd all be gone in one day after I looked at them for a week...?♡

this is the one i ordered for Lotte

i want this leash but i want it to go down in price.

i ordered the gold (brass) heart dog tag (that i will have engraved)...but i don't see them online anymore. i wonder if the packer decided to buy them all because they were so cheap? i wonder.

i would love to get this collar, too. my dog looks like she's wearing a le smoking suit and this would be a cute bow tie :) but i think this would be so cute with the red heart tag! :(

and of course the matching leash.

this was Lotte when i first got her. the girl i got her from is holding her for me. she was so so cute!
this is my sweet Lotte now. :)

♥ GIRL FRIDAY ♥ VOGUE 1969 IN IRAN (PATTIE BOYD, LAUREN HUTTON) ♥

This is an amazing photoshoot for Vogue from 1969 (one of my favorite years in fashion) taken in Iran before the revolution. This is the Iran I always hear about. This is the Iran I never got to enjoy and see. These are the ruins from the beginning of civilization (that is the truth...look it up...the word IRAN is from or the root of the word ARIAN)...Look at the amazing Persian blues everywhere. Look at the old tile work from thousands of years ago. Look at the gorgeous fashions, too, and the gorgeous young Lauren Hutton (the original tooth-gap model), who still looks hot and not like a plastic surgery freak. (AND I JUST REALIZED THAT THE OTHER AND COVER MODEL IS NONE OTHER THAN PATTIE BOYD!) There's a generation of Persian youth who long for this kind of beauty and history of our homeland (though most of us were born elsewhere). This is a mighty long post...but I wanted to get it to you anyway. You can like the fan page where this came from which is called IRANIAN OLD MAGAZINE COVERS. There's also a hip advert for Iran Air and some other bits from the same issue. This is during Diana Vreeland's reign at Vogue, methinks. Methinks I'm sure of it.

that's a persian fashion look, people. gorgeous.

amazing. amazing. amazing. that tile work is thousands of years old.
see the outfit on the wall? look familiar? you see that silhouette everywhere
in fashion. even in the last louis vuitton show.

this is at Persepolis...which you can read about here.

Farah...who was the queen at the time and married to the Shah of Iran. Look at that amazing outfit with the Persian motifs. She was very very good friends with YSL. See her wedding dress by YSL here.
an old Iran Air advert from the same issue. hipster.
an article about the hip hot boutiques in Tehran.

I loved seeing this so much. I hope you got to see a glimpse of this amazing past. ♡
