Oh how much do I love RED VALENTINO? Too much. Right now almost everything is on sale on their website and I wish I had a train load of money to buy all the lovely girly dresses and shoes and accessories. The one shoe that's not on sale yet are the RED VALENTINO RAIN BOOTS. These are so cute. I love the Valentino feminine detail on these. Those bows. :) And they're affordable at $197 on their website. You can wear them for-ever, too. :) They come in black and a lovely green.♡
This is a pretty cool "confessional" by Shalom Harlow for the Alexander Wang's label that my friend Deana Bianco posted on the tumblr for her new magazine CRUEL SUMMER (YEA! which I'll be writing for). Check out the video and then go follow the Cruel Summer tumblr account for more details. Deanna also does the amazing travel blog (that I also write for) called RUNAWAYNOW.COM. I like Shalom and I like the confession or whatever. But I don't get the whole confessional screen as though she's really at confession. A bit much.♡
(NOTE...THE TUESDAY TAILOR POST IS BELOW THIS ONE...I put this up because it didn't go up yesterday. Enjoy!)
I can't remember if I posted this up already. I think I failed to do so and then forgot about it in the drafts section and THEN thought I had already posted it. If you've seen these before, do let me know and I'll make a note of it. If you haven't, then you are in for something very fun and amazing. I love this YouTube beauty guru Asahi Sasaki and her channel sasakiasahi . These are very editorial and exactly the kind of editorial makeup looks I love. I can't say enough about how much I love her work. And everyone knows how much we all love the Japanese products! I have loads of makeup to post up about. But I wanted to get this up because I was so busy that I didn't get a Makeup Monday post yesterday. So here it is and the Tues Tailor post is right below it. xx♡
The first one is an eyeliner trick, but I love the silliness of the video. I love everything anthropomorphic.
High fashion editorial...or cool fashion editorial. If you wait a minute. At first it looks clown. But it ends up some fantastic 60s Shelley Duvall fantasy fashion thing!
This one is just gorgeous...I don't know if that's a wig, but that hair is so cute and also her indigo contacts. such a gorgeous look...
OMG These are so good. So Nancy Girl. Or what I love. And these use those paper lashes I wrote about a million years ago.
I have never actually met Brooklyn-based designer Samantha Pleet. But we've been friendly ever since we used her dresses in a shoot with the kids from Gus Van Sant's Paranoid Park. I loved all the amazing little dresses that were shipped to us in Portland from New York. I kind of fell out of touch with some people when I stopped writing for magazines...but I kept an eye on Samantha's collections. And I do love them all, still. There's something very very New York in her clothes. I know the girls who wear her clothes, if you want to put it that way. Recently I got reconnected to Samantha, so I'll be covering her on a regular basis from now on. Below is her current Spring 2012 collection...and if you know New York in the spring and summer, then you can see how these would sell out in a heartbeat. Just looking at these dresses and rompers (she does great little rompers) makes me miss a hot humid day in New York and all the ice cream trucks on every street so so much. :( But for her, that's a good thing. :) You can see more on samanthapleet.com. (I'm also going to finally squeeze in some interviews with her and some other lovely girls I know in New York.)♡
is that the cutest tiniest trench you've ever seen?
