MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ TECHNO BUTTERFLIES AT CHRISTIAN DIOR ♥

I already reviewed or did a post on the Christian Dior Spring Summer 2013 collection/show, which was pretty and fine and wearable (for the most part), but I think it was definitely the makeup that stole the show or saved the show? Dunno. Something like that. We're headed in a very minimal direction with Raf at Dior and Hedi at YSL (or is it just SL now?), which probably means the makeup is going to be the major player of this next year. I mean...a MAJOR player. Pat McGrath was in charge of those crazy eyes at Dior and here is a quote from style.com about what they did there:
"He brings fabrics," McGrath says of her pre-show meetings with Simons, which have already amounted to one outstanding face-painting effort that saw the legendary makeup artist play with a similar color palette, reimagined as elongated cat-eyes and pigment-dusted eyelashes at Simons' Couture show in July.

"And then we talk about the girl. His girl loves makeup"—specifically eye makeup that manifest itself as Spring's "techno-butterflies," as McGrath tells it, replete with squared-off splashes of bright creams topped with shadows that were dragged across lids and accessorized with Swarovski crystals, lots of them. "There were 55 girls. We started beading at 8:30 in the morning [for a 2:30 show]," she explained of the individual hand designs that were assigned to each model. "Once you've done that, you don't really need anything else," she continued of why skin and lips were left bare and hair was pulled back into sleek, low-slung ponytails at the hands of Redken creative consultant Guido Palau. The one extra touch McGrath did add was a thin black brushstroke along the upper lash line and a few swipes of black mascara to provide definition to her paste-and-place bedazzling effort. Do try this at home. ♡

SUNDAY MATINEE ♥ LOUIS VUITTON TOKYO TRAVEL GUIDE ♥

I love these Louis Vuitton travel guide videos. Brilliant. Sounds like the same narrator as the dude from the Marc Jacobs' documentary. ♡

SATURDAY SHOW ♥ HEDI SLIMANE'S INTRO CAMPAIGN FOR YSL ♥

Don't hate me for posting this. I thought I should at least share it. I think the images are strong and will definitely stand out once they're out in the world. Hedi obviously shot it. But this slow slow way of showing the photos with the slow slow song....YAWNING. I can't even see the clothes. I don't know. I love Hedi (when I was with Anthem magazine, he was a guest editor for an entire issue), but this is just kind of a boring video. Wow. When have you ever heard so much negativity from me during Paris Fashion Week? Never. I just thought this year was so boring. I am sure Louis Vuitton will be amazing, though. Thank God. ♡

PFW ♥ TSUMORI CHISATO SPRING SUMMER 2013 SHOW ♥

I'm not really in that Tsumori Chisato mood these days, meaning I would rather wear all black or all gray or all navy than vibrant colors and prints. Still, she is one of my favorite designers, so of course I want to see what she's done and post it up. I'll do a post of the shoes a bit later on. I think Chisato is definitely one of those designer shows where you MUST know that these looks are meant to be taken apart. You're not really expected to wear all of her stuff together because clearly one piece is enough statement. But it always makes for an interesting collection and runway show. ♡

i am sure those shoes are amazing. it's a great editorial look and that's a very very Persian green.

i'm really feeling this kind of "look at me i'm a chic director" look. :)

that top alone paired with something simple would be awesome.

i love that windbreaker.

that is very pretty and the model has a great figure for it.

i also love this and think it's very chic money style girl.

look how cute tsumori chisato is! see how she pairs the crazy with all black? that's the trick.
