♥ !!! CHARLOTTE TILBURY SHARES HER FELINE FLICK !!! ♥

OMG OMG! I can't wait for Monday to share this!!! FINALLY, Charlotte Tilbury shows us all how to do her signature "FELINE FLICK"....!!! The same feline flick that Kate Moss always has...the same sexy feline flick all her hot clients have!!! This is my most favorite thing about her (Charlotte) and I am SO EXCITED to practice practice practice until I can whip it on in a minute, without a mirror, in a car...i.e. with no effort at all. I mean, if you love simple with lots of impact...this is IT! Also...she uses a dot method which is how I learned how to do liquid eyeliner and was going to do a full-on post on it, too...but mine is full on. Also can do the dot method for lip liner. (My mother, who was a total Mod, taught me when I was like 16.). YEA! I was going to try this today, but my head was hurting...but tomorrow...!!!♡

♥ YEA! AMY DAVIS HAS STARTED A NEW BLOG! YUMMY DRESS ♥

Awesome news! My good friend, the amazing illustrator, fashion maven, film creator/actress, stylist, bag designer and Grammy-nominated rockstar AMY DAVIS (you might also have seen here work back in the day when she illustrated a fashion column for Paper magazine called STYLE FIENDS) has launched a blog! FINALLY! And, too boot, it won't only have her amazing stylings and illustrations and makeup selections and humor...she is genius...it seems as though every post will also include a recipe to go along with the outfit! And this isn't just some boring little recipe, y'all. It's actually unique, funny, well-thought out, probably good for you (though I can't imagine they ALL will be healthy for you). Amy is like an education. If you think you know style, you won't think so after you see her work. If you think you know fashion, you'll realize you're learning new things once you read her blog. And of course the recipes are just an added bonus. Well, a triple bonus really. :)

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO FINALLY LAUNCH A BLOG, AMY?

Launchin' a blog was one of those weirdo dreamy creamy ideas I had many moons ago.

I have a BIG MOUTH....BIG OPINIONS and of course...a BIG ASS ATTITUDE...so I needed a BIG VENT or else I'd end up going nutso...know whadda means???

The BLOG equaled that BIG VENT...OMGAWD VENT that word is so weird the more you write it...

I'm an ONLY CHILD so I sorta needed to make my own world and frankly that's what I love about art...you can actually create your own UNIVERSE and perhaps inspire some peeps to either do the same or at least cook some good grub and rock a sick ass frock. (sic)

WHY FASHION AND FOOD (WHICH IS FANTASTIC FANTASTIC)?

Cuz  ya gots ta eat and dress EVERY DAY...unless you are fasting in your jammies.

COME ON! We have to eat and let's face it...it can get DULL,MUNDANE and even gosh darn hard to feed yourself.

I wanted to make the feeding part fun, delish and perhaps a bit nutrish...BUT NOT PREACHY! I really have to watch that as I am a total beeyach sometimes with my know it all 'tude.

BUT that's the fun of it I DO NOT KNOW IT ALL! 

I know that shocks me daily....tee hee

I don't know what any readers health issues or allergies or even religious beliefs about food are.

So I PREACH NOT...and I let peeps make the decision.."Do I wanna eat that? or perhaps substitute  some butter for olive oil...et al"

I do NOT eat a buncha stuff...but I won't even let anyone know what I don't eat cuz it can influence peeps and face it..my tummy AINT YO TUMMY.

That was a lesson I had to learn...we all gots different insides but we all wanna look FABTASTICO on the outside...so VOILA FASHION BABIES!

By coupling both of my obsessionz I created a peaceful venture(for my wack a doodle on overdrive mind) and a total artistic rainbow brite candy colored release for my fever-dreams of Lucien Pellat-Finet sweaters(YOU KNOW THE ONES FASHION KIDS!) and Chanel Bubble bags(TRENDY YES! I STILL WANT ONE YO!) and lotsa glitter lipgloss in shades of periwinkle and dusty rose.OH YUM! on so many levels.

AND it got me outta my funk...I was blocked up ...I couldn't create until... like chocolate meets peanut buttah... Fashion met Food and BUBULAHS I WAS FREED!!!! (sic)

ALL I (YOU) WANT FOR CHRISTMAS (OR HANUKKUH :) IS...

OMGAWD FOR X MAS and HANUKKAH I want free studio time(3 full) days at this hot shit recording studio in Santa Fe FROGVILLE...for my band LOW ON HIGH.

ALSO...I want...THIS IS SOOO LAME OMG CAN I ACTUALLY TELL YOU and risk LOOSING ALL MY KOOL KRED???

I RISK! For being a total nerd is also my forte ...I WANT OMG here it comes...I want that  DANA SCHNEIDER SUNBIRD NECKLACE in 18K GOLD that GAG here it comes...Karen from CALIFORNICATION wears...I KNOW SHOOT ME NOW. It is TOTALLY TRENDY and ON A TV SHO??WTF? WTF?? But I wants it...I won't get it cuz it's too uncool (and close to 3 grand GULPS!) BUT I do want it...Color me TRENDILICIOUS!

And here's the clincher thing I really want...and cue LIFETIME CHANNEL music..I want EVERY HUMAN BEING to FEEL FULFILLED. To actually have the balls to follow their dreams...to not give a FUDGCICLE what anyone thinks about them....to live life happily and generously ...sans regret, bitterness or angst. To SHINE BITCHES! To LAFF to SING to DANCE to EAT to DRINK to ROCK to FUCK and to do it all cuz HONEY I'm 44...and LIFE she keeps on chuggin by...Don't let it pass you by. HEY THAT RHYMES!!! HUGGUMZ! XXX (sic)

♥ SILLY FUNNY FUN HEAVY METAL GIFT GUIDE FOR ARCADIA ♥

These are some posts that have gone up on the Heavy Metal novel (ARCADIA) Facebook page and the Tumblr site. But a lot of people have liked them or laughed and I thought I'd put them up here. There is also a new one coming that features some fashion/makeup! Stay tuned or go to the FB and Tumblr pages and sign up. (It's a party.)

I'll explain a little bit about them for those of you who aren't from the States. Or a little too young to understand the references or have not read the novel yet. 

If you are from the U.S. and over 25, then you will no doubt know what Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill is. Maybe naughty teens these days still try to score this cheap wine. Or maybe the kids today are more sophisticated. I don't know. But the teens in the novel, which takes places in LA/Hollywood in the late 1980's and early 1990's, used to "score" beer and buy and drink this cheap wine, which actually tastes not too bad (if you don't mind sugary sweet strawberry-flavored drinks!) It's less than $3 a bottle. IF you are of age, it would be super funny to receive that. If you read the book or if you you know what Strawberry Hill is.

Fingerless leather fringe gloves. Sigh. How cool would it be to see little teen girls in little dresses going to see bands wearing these? Well, they did. They were even pretty hard to find if you were in the Los Angeles area because everyone wanted them. Do drummers even wear these anymore? There is a scene in the book where these are featured. They're totally Metal. 

This is a joke and a reference to the new law that passed where it's now legal for people to smoke weed in Washington (state) and Colorado, just like Amsterdam (finally). I mean, not everyone wants to drink booze. But it's also something that comes up a lot in the novel (booze does, too, of course...can't have Heavy Metal without booze...or weed). If you are allowed, if you are of age to be able to do that in a place that allows it, it would be really funny to give someone a Heavy Metal novel and a joint. It's just for fun.

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ TOM FORD FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS ♥

A couple of items I would LOVE to receive for Christmas. Likewise, if you can afford to buy one lipstick (which is really expensive but super luxe), it would make a lovely gift for someone you know...

The TOM FORD EYESHADOW QUAD IN COGNAC SABLE...oh how I dream of owning this (and I shall...after I use up a lot of other shadows I have already so I can devote my love to this palette). It's perfect for most eye colors but especially lovely if you have green or even blue eyes. Have you seen the Charlotte Tilbury tutorial where she uses this quad to create a smokey eye? You can see that here. This quad is $75 on the Neiman Marcus site (my favorite shop or one of them in San Francisco).

Something else from Tom Ford's makeup collection is a fragrance....especially and specifically the fragrance of TABACCO VANILLE. I honestly haven't even smelled this yet, but just the name alone makes me feel like I would love it. When I was little, my dad smoked a pipe, and we used to go to the tobacco shop about every week. As he would order or talk to the dude there, I'd walk around and smell all the luscious rich tobacco smells. If this smells anything like that plus vanilla (my favorite smell next to almond and coconut and oud), then it must be insanely amazing. There's a smaller bottle you can purchase (this is one of the Private Blends) that's 1.7 ounces that sells for $205. Of course if you can really go for it and you love it, you can order the largest size at 8.4 ounces for around $500! :) But I personally love the look of those smaller amber apothecary bottles. Specially for Christmas, there are a couple of gorgeous gift sets that would make anyone swoon for the entire year! The first one is a FOUR COLOR LIP COLOR BOXED SET. This features lipstick colors in SPANISH PINK, CRIMSON NOIR, NUDE VANILLE and WILD GINGER (want!). AND they all come in a gorgeous Tom Ford mahogany box! This set costs $192 and is available here.
