♥ CHRISTIAN DIOR AND I...AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY ♥

WHAT DO I want to read soon? I mean, after I finish all the interactive goodies for my own novel's ebook and after I finish reading a couple of other books I have sitting by my bed (and A Casual Vacancy–J.K. Rowling–which I'm reading right now and actually loving...she is such a great writer...even for adults!). Sometimes I wish I had six arms and three heads so I could do everything I wanted at the same time. I've also decided to whip out ANOTHER novel (write it, that is) before I finish the new novel I've already started writing. OI VEY!

I've been following the blog Paris Boutique Hotel for eons now...probably over 4 years. And one of the things I love is her selection of vintage and antique publications. It's always amazing to see the old/original covers. And though it's already sold, I would have loved to own this edition of CHRISTIAN AND I, an autobiography by Christian Dior. How fantastic! And look at the interior lining paper! It's gorgeous! You can def get the book here, but it won't have that cover or interior. But keep looking and you might get lucky and find it in a used bookstore (support those!). Happy searching!♥

♥ VALENTINO PRE-FALL 2013 ♥ AS PRETTY AS EVER ♥

All I have to say, which is what I always say about Valentino is the I am devoted to the old, but I love love love the new direction, too. I would literally melt if I entered a room and saw a full rack of Valentino dresses, especially the long ones. I really want to have a lot of places to go where I would need to wear a dress like that...and often. :) That's one of my New Year's resolutions. :) I do have one vintage Valentino long dress that I have never worn and some other vintage gorgeous chiffon dresses that I haven't had a gala to go to or an awards show or...anything. But it would be nice if this resolution happened and I'd also get the rack of Valentino....see more Valentino Pre-Fall 2013.♥

this would be my every day run to the market and pick up the kids from school dress...if i had it. :)

i love this dress with those nude shoes. so girly.

in black. i actually own a very similar look in silk chiffon that a designer made specifically for me (though the designer wasn't from Valentino...but i love the dress just the same). mine has a peter pan collar so it looks more chanel when i wear it.

though i never buy new fur...i do buy vintage if i see it because there is no tic mark that says anything fur has sold. but this fur is very pretty. even though i wouldn't buy it.

♥ SUNDAY MATINEE ♥ THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS ♥

If you have not yet watched Elizabeth Taylor in the film, "The Last Time I Saw Paris" with Van Johnson (among other greats), then you must watch this! It's not only glamorous and the sets are gorgeous and Liz looks insanely gorgeous as she does in all of her films...but the film itself is really fantastic. It's a favorite in my family (we are all super movie buffs). I just saw that it's on TV today, and so I looked it up for you because I am going to make a hot tea and watch it again myself! Liz Taylor is in so many of my favorite films (as is Natalie Wood) like "Giant" (with James Dean and Rock Hudson...two of my other favorite actors), "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof", "Butterfield 8", "Cleopatra" (which is actually good despite what you might read), that it's sad to think there are not more new films with her in them. She was such an amazing actor.

♥ YEA FOR PARCELS WITH ROCKER GIRLS FROM THE 80'S! ♥

LOOK WHAT JUST CAME IN THE MAIL!

I just got a little package from Amy Davis with the original drawing of her POP ROCKS post on her YUMMY DRESS blog! If you haven't checked it out...GO NOW! It's a character from my novel ARCADIA and it's teamed with an amazing recipe for MOCK-CHOS!

NOW THE illustration online looks amazing...but the actual original is really on another level because you get to see all the little tiny details (like all the hot pink) and her hand work, which makes it even more insanely good!
