SORRY FOR THE LATE POST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

...but today was a miserable day. And I can't get myself to even go through some of my drafts to get one up. I do have a really good post that I want to get up, but I will have to do a double post tomo or else post today's a little later after I feel a little better. What I would love is if all of you could send really positive thoughts and energy to me that this situation gets resolved because it's really horrible. And I mean that. Sorry again for the sourness of this post...but I just need to be honest and ask for some good energy.

But some good stuff on the way. Hold tight and thanks for reading! xxx

Thank goodness I have the love of my little lovely sweet funny silly dog, Lotte. I really understand this Charlie Brown illustration above so so much. (PS...she is fine...nothing happened to her...just so you know. I'm just so grateful for her.)

sweetest little thing ever!

♥ OSCAR DE LA RENTA GIVING GALLIANO A DESERVED CHANCE ♥

I was pretty shocked to wake up and see that John Galliano was in the news...and attached to Oscar de la Renta of all people. Though, feels like a very good match with the giant ballgown history they share. According to the New York Times, seems that Oscar wants to give Galliano an opportunity to come back by way of a residency in his studio. What I did not know was that the Oscar de la Renta brand is still privately owned (very nice to hear in this day and age when every major label is run by gigantic corporations who know nothing about fashion and just want to make money). I also read that Anna Wintour would back them both should there be any discord with this decision.

Here's a quote from the NYT story:
Mr. de la Renta told the paper that he was not concerned about potential backlash. “I think John is doing all the right things,” he said. “Everyone in life deserves a second chance, especially someone as talented as John. I think life is about forgiving and helping people.”

I personally don't think Galliano is a racist. I think he was just being stupid and harassed as he was drunk. Which makes for terrible press. I feel so badly for him and I hope this gives him some hope and happiness. I do know a lot of people who have worked with him, at his side in fact, and no one has ever said one bad thing about him at all. Plus, he is a talent whom I think was pressured and broken as some other designers in the past (like dear McQueen) from the pressures of business assholes.

I'm so excited to see what happens. It's also a great publicity move on Oscar's part. For both parties.

CAMPAIGNS I'LL BE TEARING OUT OF MAGAZINES ♥ LV AND MJ SPRING

I haven't been able to see all the images for all the campaigns yet...they've only teased us with a few. But y'all know how much I love a good ad campaign. I have a lot of the old ones from W magazine when it looked like a newspaper tabloid and I even have some really old ones from when I was a kid. I used to always put them on my walls like posters, and I still have them folded up in boxes in my parents garage. I think my favorite ones are the 80s Versace ones with Linda and Christy and Naomi, etc.

But I do think I'm going to be looking for the largest ones I can find from the Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs Spring 2013 campaigns, because I love the models and I love the look and I loved those collections too much to say in words. I am dying for pieces from both collections (do I need to repeat for the 100th time how much I love the 60s?). And I'm really into that little girl looking model Ruby Jean Wilson. She is a great look...she is a great change from some of the watered-out boring girls who sex it up way too much for my liking. And rather than post the LV and MJ campaigns in separate posts, I thought it best to just mash them up into one.

an amazing shot of ruby jean wilson...the face of marc jacobs spring 2013 and included in louis vuitton spring 2013. i think this shot is actually from oyster magazine, which i worked for over 5 years. i love the makeup and look in this shot. gorgeous. and good for her. finally a new model with personality!

♥ ♥ !!!! THE DAVID BOWIE PAPER DOLL !!!! ♥ ♥

I LOVE THIS! I'm a huge fan of paper dolls and used to do a monthly thing for the press when I was doing some PR for artists and indie designers back in the day (during college I was a PR Director if you can believe that! Better than waitressing for me I guess!). I found this DAVID BOWIE paperdoll a while back and forgot to post it up...it's actually for sale on etsy here....but you can easily create your own if you know how to draw (which I really can't).
