WOW.... THOM BROWNE !!! Finally...FINALLY....a clothing brand that wants to have some fun with fashion and the fashion show this season! Just check out the images from his SPRING SUMMER 2012 SHOW! First of all, just look at the models' faces...that says it all. They look like they're having a blast. Second...how ironic that he's showing a lot of 30s and maybe a bit of 20s flapper fashion...that was also a time when we had a depression in there...(depression/recession...same difference). I know these looks crazy and quirky on the runway....but there are plenty of pieces that you will undoubtedly see on the real body and on the real rack. It's that good of a collection. Thom Browne also chose to show at the New York Library...a very iconic place in the city. And let's take our hats off to his 20s-Parisian-lesbian vibe. It's very obvious and I think he said something to that effect in an interview, too. It's a gorgeous collection. It's a fun show. I love the styling. I love the fun. And there's even a Wednesday Bag in there, too. (These are photographs, but they easily easily look like fashion illustrations came to life!)♡

All of a sudden, everyone is asking WHO IS THOM BROWNE because the amazing Michelle Obama wore his clothes today during the Inauguration ceremonies...and I was STOKED she did. Because he is amazing. And crazy fun, too. He's like our own McQueen in a way...you know what I'm saying...right? So if you have seen these already, revisit because they're from last year and the year before. BRAVO TO MICHELLE FOR WEARING THOM BROWNE (I HOPE HER DRESS FOR THE BALL IS BY HIM, TOO!) AND I'M STOKED I COVERED THOM BROWNE WAY BEFORE ALL THE HYPE HAPPENED. You heard it hear...first. xxxx ♥

WHAT A SHOW! AGAIN! I love the Thom Browne fashion shows! I love his vision! I love his fun! I love his weirdness! It's like taking a sneak peek at what people will be dressing like in the year 2525! I mean, think about it. Fashion has been a lot of places. It HAS TO either get really REALLY REALLY weird or get REALLY REALLY REALLY minimal (which is also space age). Really interesting to think about. Clearly Thom Browne can see it in his Spring Summer 2013 collection. Just amazing. I wish he also did films because he'd kill it! I'll try to get the video of the show on here. I also want to say that there are at least two pieces I'd wear here on a regular basis. :) ♡

♥ SUNDAY MATINEE ♥ FANTASTIC NEW YORK CITY 1956 ♥

My how things have changed. I have been really missing New York City lately and all my dear amazing creative friends there...and the city streets itself. New York is everything you've ever heard about and much more. It is alive like a beast. I wrote two novels about it, a part 1 and a part 2, that I will have to edit in the near future and try to get out. I always refer to New York as a sleeping beast because you always feel like you're walking on top of it...the energy is palatable, if that makes sense. It's like living in a dream. So I was really excited to find this film which showcases a lot of the city from 1956, and I was kind of surprised to see just how old school it was back then. I lived in the Lower East Side and I wish there were those old Italian vendors and cheese shops there. Now, just a few years after I left, the Lower East Side is like a mall. Which is sad. Anyway...this film is awesome! Happy Sunday!♥

I thought today I'd do a favorite YouTuber feature instead of the fashion-y post I had planned. I'll post that up next week (we also have another amazing guest post by NANCY GIRL contributor Masayo Kishi going up next week, too!). I don't know if I featured this YouTube beauty guru before. Basically, I like to start my day with a cup or two of tea with sugar or honey and cream (mostly coconut or almond milk) and watching my YouTube subscriptions, which consist mainly of all these adorable beauty girls. The channel I wanted to feature today is called VERYELLE14 with a very nice and sweet and smart lady named Alexandra. The best thing about her channel is that she is a wealth of knowledge and an education on French beauty brands. And her reviews are really thorough as she is so damn articulate when she speaks about them. I really love watching her channel. Her own makeup always looks amazing and she has really good taste in products. She also has great overviews of some awesome cosmetic brands like Laura Mercier and Kiko. If you love the Frenchies and you love French beauty brands, then you will love her channel! Go to it and subscribe NOW! xx ♥
