SATURDAY SHOW ♥ IRIS VAN HERPEN COUTURE 2013 COLLECTION ♥

Iris Van Herpen is crazy good at what she does and I think she knows it. It's obviously very McQueen....at first notice. But the more you follow this talent, the more you see her in the pieces. I think the closest thing between her and McQueen is the immaculate craftsmanship. When I look at her pieces, I think more of Thierry Mulger..not the Mugler of today but the real Mugler when Thierry himself was designing it (those were the days). I especially thought that when I saw the Couture 2013 collection, and the smiling models. I dunno. I can see these back in the day on Nadja or Linda or Christy, too. (Sunday's post will be all about vintage amazing Thierry Mugler so you can drink your tea or coffee on Sunday morning and watch the Thierry Matinee!)

Also, as a teaser I want to mention that we have another post coming up next week from Masayo Kishi and a fashion shoot she did for a very big magazine with Iris Van Herpen pieces! It's amazing as always, so stay tuned for that!♥

♥ GIAMBATTISTA VALLI COUTURE 2013 ♥ FANTASY PRINCESS CROWNS ♥

I already did a post on the Giambattista Valli Couture 2013 show, but I wanted to do a special post on the crowns/head pieces the models were wearing because these pieces really added to the entire collection/look/feel/vibe. They're lovely and fantastical. The dresses would have looked totally different without these pieces. I'd love to find one of these as a trickle-down item or make one myself. Because they are gorgeous almost fashion fantasy princess pieces that would be so lovely to wear on your birthday or New Year's Eve or any special day you want to feel like the princess. I loved the belts and neck pieces, too...but not as much as those crowns. Not all. Click here to see more detail from the collection. ♥ ULYANA SARGEENKO COUTURE 2013 ♥ THIS FASHION WON'T BORE YOU ♥

I was so excited to see the new images from Ulyana Sergeenko's 2013 Couture show! She did not disappoint. I have covered her stuff on Nancy Girl before...but sometimes it's a one-time deal where the next show isn't as good as you thought the first one was. But this was as good and even better. I just love her work...I love the stories behind the pieces and the love of fashion. I mean, THIS IS FASHION. I love the makeup and styling. Can't you see Daphne Guinness, a lover of couture, wearing these? I can. Ulyana should also be doing films because her work is just too amazing to only showcase at a show every 6 months. There are so many pieces I love in the show, but I can't post them all here. So have a look here and see the rest...you won't be disappointed! I mean, I loved the Dior Couture show....but I was bored. The dresses and suits were perfect, but I was still bored. I don't think couture should bore you. (I also love the shoes!)♥

♥ GIAMBATTISTA VALLI COUTURE 2013 ♥ FAIRY PRINCESSES ♥

I am in love with so many pieces from the Giambattista Valli 2013 Couture show...And I especially love love the crowns, which I'll do a separate post for because they're so amazing! First of all, I always love what Valli does, but I see a lot of repetition (like Lanvin), so I don't cover it on the blog as much. That's not to say I don't think he's a genius. I always look for vintage and actually own a lot of vintage that looks like some of these dresses with the 3D floral detail. I really esp love the mini dresses, as they seem modern princess girl to me....they're gorrrgeous!♥

she looks so so chic and simple. but you could do so much with this. i mean, if you were a princess going to the market in our couture mini dress. :) she looks miserable. but i'd be smiling.

julia nobis needs to eat. but she looks like a rockstar in this. it's amazing.

this reminds me so much of YSL. i have a vintage YSL dress that has a print almost identical to this. just imagine a bow at the neck on here. total YSL.

i have a vintage wedding dress with floral detailing like this. not as much, though. this dress is made for a princess for sure.
