MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ DOMESTIC BEAUTY

These gorgeous amazing images are from Vogue Italia c. 2008 and shot by Miles Aldridge, the son of esteemed psychedelic artist Alan Aldridge (whom you saw painting a girl's body in Swinging London in one of my Sunday Matinee posts).  I also had another Makeup Monday post featuring Miles Aldridge images and those were equally gorgeous. His images are truly gorgeous and I'd love to work with him one day...soon! And the makeup and hair in this is just too much...in a very good way! (PS...here's a how-to do a bronze smoky eye from the lovelies at Pixiwoo in case you want to get this look...)♡

GIRL FRIDAY ♥ FUNNY GIRL & CHANEL

THE AMAZING (I WISH I OWNED THIS OR A KNOCK-OFF OF IT) ARNOLD SCAASI OUTFIT WORN BY BARBRA STREISAND WHEN SHE WON HER OSCAR IN 1969.

The first thing I thought of when I looked at some of the later pieces in the Chanel SS 2011 Couture collection that just showed was that some of the pieces reminded me of the fun piece Barbra Streisand wore when she picked up her Oscar in 1969 for "Funny Girl" (a movie that had amazing looks in it, too). And when I picked those looks out and lined them up side-by-side with her Arnold Scaasi sequined, bell-bottom sheer outfit, I think I was right. Not sure if this was ever a consideration when Monsieur Lagerfeld was sketching them out, but the 60s are seriously there and the look is seriously a a good match. OH HOW I WISH people had more fun with their fashion at the awards ceremonies. The looks are all so BORING. The styling is all so BORING. AND SAFE. Too bad no one ever really goes for it with a fun evening look like they did back then. Anyway, if you haven't ever seen the film, and you love fashion, you're missing out. It's gorgeous. Take a look below and see for yourself.♡

Elliot Gould with Barbra.

SHE MUST HAVE LOVED WEARING THIS LOOK. NO ONE EVER DRESSES LIKE THIS ANYMORE!

Here are the specific looks that, for me, took me straight to the comparison. I do love them. I wasn't a fan of everything in the collection. But these were some of my favorites, and you can see why if you read NANCY GIRL on a regular basis...

SO 60'S...AND SOO GOOD.
SHEER, SHINY AND SIXTIES.
THIS ALSO LOOKS LIKE A PLAY ON THE SCAASI LOOK.
REALLY ADORE THIS DETAIL.

Here are some of the other looks I liked from the Chanel Couture show.

KIND OF STRANGE, BUT SIMPLE AND CHIC.
FOR SOME REASON, I LIKE THIS LOOK. MAYBE SANS THE PETTICOAT.
I ALWAYS BUY VINTAGE DRESSES IN THIS SHAPE. IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHAPES FOR EVENING DRESSES.
I THINK THE DRESS WOULD LOOK LOVELY WITHOUT THE PANTS.
GORGEOUS DETAIL AND COLOR.
I ALSO LOVE THESE SHOES. THEY'LL BE A HIT WHEN THEY'RE IN THE STORES.

SHOE ME THURSDAY ♥ YSL PYTHON WEDGE

I know I know I know...you've seen this in all the magazines already. But I just can't not include it because I LOVE THESE. :) These are the things dreams are made of. That a genius like Stefano can design and create a shoe like this and then actually sell them. You can buy them, wear them, touch them. :) Yes, they are gorgeous. These are probably one of the best shoes I've ever seen. And only $2000 at most YSL boutiques...

let's all have a moment of silence.
i prefer this color, actually.

OK...on another note...and a another wave...the below YSL ballerina flats are GORGEOUS and already available online for purchase. I didn't see the above wedges on the site yet. Happy shopping.♡

look at that gorgeous giant logo! these are amazing. and less than $500 US.

WEDNESDAY BAG ♥ SYLVIA TOLEDANO

This lovely crystal box clutch by Sylvia Toledano is one hot little clutch that I'd love to own and use frequently. It's a miniaudière that's made of metal encrusted with Austrian crystals. It's strange enough to be not-too-pretty and not-too-typical. It's perfect. Especially because it has a chain! Available for purchase at Farfetch .♡

TUESDAY TAILOR ♥ RICHARD NICOLL X FRED PERRY LTD EDITION COLLECTION (OH YEAH)

Loving it all...styling, casting, attitude.

I was absolutely floored when I saw the lookbook pics from the new Richard Nicoll for Fred Perry collection. Maybe everyone doesn't see what I see (or maybe they do)...but what I see is precision casting...look at her face and her puggy nose, which I think is fantastic, and her attitude and fresh look. She looks like an actress someone kept secret and then sprung out. The styling is amazing, inspired by 50s Teddy Girls (which of course we love at Nancy Girl). But the look is brought up to speed. It's still modern and new. And then the clothes are perfect. They still look very very Fred Perry, but definitely have a Richard Nicoll twist. I'm thrilled he's got the spotlight because it was clear when I met him and hung out with him that he was very genuine. He wasn't someone caught up in what he thought he should be doing/designing. He seemed very patient and confident that his time would come. And it has with his namesake line shooting up there, his being named the new creative head at Cerruti (even though it was just announced they're shutting the womenswear down , more is sure to come) and now this perfect match. Can't wait to see what else is on the way! PS I also own the raddest and tiniest Fred Perry jacket that I purchased almost 10 years ago...and everyone always comments how it's so hard to get the tiny stuff. But maybe now everyone can get the tiny stuff from this collection.♡

Richard Nicoll's sketches for Fred Perry...I love these!
