(FREAK) FILM FRIDAY ♥ PIG DEATH MACHINE!

I was stoked to hear that two of my favorite freaks (and creators) Amy Davis and Jon Moritsugu (see the previous post I did on their album LOW ON HIGH and read about them here ) had just wrapped up a new film...a horror film...just in time for my Halloween week of posts. Of course it's pure and awesome and there's loads of style seeping out from every corner of it. They can't help it...it just comes naturally to everything they do. They're masters at everything they tackle. And sweethearts, too. I got to ask them a couple of questions about the film. They sent over another teaser as well as some awesome stylee STYLEE stills from the film....check it out YO:

GLAMOUR SHOT of APATHY PRODUCTIONS KING JON + QUEEN AMY
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THIS FILM IS ABOUT?
PIG DEATH MACHINE stars AMY DAVIS as COCOJOY, a dumb-as-a-doornail brunette who eats a mysterious substance (ok, ok... weird old tainted meat) and is transformed into a real genius with all the trimmings.  Punk Rock Goddess HANNAH LEVBARG (of the band VENUS BOGARDUS) plays LIPTON, a gardening freak who eats the same stuff and gains the ability to talk to plants. All of the initial excitement slowly turns into horror as each character sinks deeper and deeper from her "ultimate fantasy" into her "ultimate nightmare."

Tucker Bennet is a new star in our APATHY Crown. He plays HOTPANTS...Lipton's work mate.

PIG DEATH MACHINE was shot by TODD VEROW in August 2010 who also shot MOD FUCK EXPLOSION and TERMINAL USA. So it'll have that pastel candy-colored sweetness of those, albeit in DV.

AMY DAVIS and VICTOR OF AQUITAINE in the FIGHT SCENE.
VEROW SHOOTS DAVIS ON THE GARSON STUDIOS BLUE SCREEN (they just shot COWBOYS and ALIENS here as well as NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN!)
WHY A HORROR FILM THIS TIME AROUND?
Horror is a genre that the two of us have always wanted to tackle... and until now, we didn't feel ready or interested. Of course, PIG DEATH MACHINE won't be the typical slash/burn/ghost/lingerie boobie-with-nightvision horror flick...it's leanin' more towards the psychological terror/screwball side of life with teeny tiny boobies all wrapped up in glitter pasties and porky pig motifs so it doesn't rally count. You'll be laughing while your super-ego slowly screams. Panic-inducing soundtrack will be provided by MONTE CAZAZZA, godfather of industrial music. Also in talks with Alec Empire of ATR. We wanted to see if we could make people afraid...afraid of their deepest desires and perhaps wary of such an  acidic envy tinged  mode of thinking/dreaming/wanting. Plus lotsa BIG BANGS+BOOMS plus BONUS>>> HOT CUTE COUTURE...WAHOOOO!!!!

UM...LIKE HELLO...AMAZING DRESS. AMY JUST KNOWS HOW TO KILL IT. IT'S ALSO REALLY FUN TO TALK FASHION AND MAKEUP WITH HER.
AMY as COCOJOY

look at all the rad looks Amy wears as Cocojoy in this film...she's insane! in a good way, of course...just click on the image to make it bigger.
WHERE CAN PEOPLE SEE IT AND WHEN?
We're projecting completion in spring of 2011, so look for it at festivals, theaters, screenings spaces, the works. Of course, we'll also have it out on DVD and all over the Internet PLUS we shot a MAKING OF DOC called PIGGYWOOD which will be out at the same time. As for now, we're just starting post-production and the footage is freakin' AMAZING, the actors all ROCK, and the southwest landscape looks ominously edible. Amy is all METHOD now for real and it is so crazy cool how deep she gets.

To help cover POST expenses like editing and sound-design, we're fundraising kickstarter stylee:

JON, TODD and ART DEPT JASON DEBOER set up desert FIGHT scene.
(L to R) THE CHILEAN, CHERRI JUBILEE, CHIVO BLANCO, JAMES DEGENERATION
HANNAH LEVBARG as LIPTON
WHAT ARE YOU GUYS WORKING ON NEXT?
At APATHY PRODUCTIONS, we are already brainstormin' our next project! Lotsa late night meetings trying to figure out the direction we're gonna take. We do know the new movie will be something bigger, more emphasis on costumes and period, mise-en-scene, maybe shot on a soundstage. But then again, we might do a rom-com....NOT!!! Hopefully we'll be shootin' something in the next year or so. It waffles between WASHED UP POP STAR  and a WESTERN  MEAN COWGIRLS... In the meantime, our band LOW ON HIGH is back in the studio workin' on a much HEAVIER follow-up album. Also planned... puppy doggie....we need fuzzy cuteness and..uh...sanity.♡
