WEDNESDAY BAG ♥ MARC JACOBS TEDDIES

I'm just a sucker for a weird bag. For weird things period, but accessories are a big thing for me. I like to be sort of simple in my own style, but then I've always always (since childhood) had weird unique one-off shoes or headbands or purses or toys or or or. I like being downplayed everywhere and then BAM!...having something so strange it makes the entire look. Like those Bambi shoes I have wanted for so long because they sold out in my size.  (If anyone has them and wants to sell them to me in a size 6.5 or 7!) These new Marc Jacobs "Teddies' bags are just that. They're very Harajuku...yeah....they are. But I do actually love the style and the texture and the Teddy bear eyes. I don't know if I like the price. I think these should have been part of the Marc line and not the Marc Jacobs proper line. They're over $1000. I don't think so. But if I found one on EBay or something, that might be worth it. These are not for everyone. But those that get me, get me. And so they'd get the Teddies, too.

For those of you who absolutely do not get this kids-for-adults stuff....I do have one more bag that's from last year and I never posted it up...I think I just forgot about it....but in his defense...it's the same designer...Marc did the below gorgeous bag for Louis Vuitton and I would kill for it, too.

PS I am sorry my blog posts have been a bit lagging lately. It's because I'm working all day every day on the final things for MY NOVEL THAT COMES OUT VERY SOON....! I will definitely keep you all posted. But there are a lot of final things to go through like the text for the back cover and the acknowledgments and finalizing THE SOUNDTRACK! (Did I mention it's Heavy Metal???). So I am really sorry. But it's for a good reason and I am almost to the end...unless they make me do ONE MORE EDIT! I can't wait to start writing a new book...but I can't decide what the next one will be yet....more soon! There's usually more about my book on this quiet blog I have for the hint fiction we (my friends and I) do called Teeny Tiny Fiction, if you feel like checking it out. x

TUES TAILOR ♥ HISTORY OF GUCCI 94-03 AND 90'S SUPER MODELS

HERE'S a video about the history of Gucci through the collection from years 1994-2003. You can see quite a huge leap in difference from one year to the...Tom Ford years. And it's also nice to see all the older models. The name models.♡

PS The audio has been disabled....so you can play the below video if you want some music to go along. Or not.

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ METALLIC SMOKY EYES

I had to post this brand new video tutorial from Lisa Eldridge on how to create a metallic smoky eye. This is so amazing and so gorgeous. I always buy these colors. I actually have a Becca Jewel Dust that looks exactly like that Mac copper pigment. The Becca Jewel Dust color is called Xantho. And I have a gorgeous gold powder pigment by ELF if you can believe it called Golden Goddess. But I wish I could get my hands on those Collection 2000 matte lip creams called CREAM PUFF. They look amazing and I love the packaging. I can't wait to be in a city where you can wear an eye like this at night if you like...preferably New York and/or Paris. This is why I love living in those cities. Otherwise, even in a place like LA where everything is so dressed down, this look can be a bit much. Especially in the summer. See and enjoy.♡

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ EEK! NAILS TUTORIALS!

I loved it when Giles Deacon had EEK! nails in his show a few seasons ago. Now there are a lot of tutorials, even one from the creator, rockstar nail goddess Sophy Robson. So of course I had to do a post on these. It's so Nancy Girl!♡

SUNDAY MATINEE ♥ GIRL ON THE COVER

So sorry I am late with yesterday's SATURDAY SHOPPING post...I've been so caught up with watching this hurricane approach the east coast, and especially approach New York City. It's scary. So I'll do my SATURDAY post very soon...I promise. But here is something pretty rad I came across recently about modeling and fashion magazines. Stay safe East Coast darlings!♡

GIRL FRIDAY ♥ GLAMOUR GIRL

Just a gorgeous shoot I never posted on here...I think this is from the beginning of the year in Italian Vogue. Shot by Steven Meisel, the story is called THE POWER OF GLAMOUR. If the message isn't clear in the photos, then maybe you need to study them again.♡

love this dress plus the shot so much.
love this, too, so much.

GIRL FRIDAY ♥ HELENA BONHAM CARTER

HELENA BONHAM CARTER FOR MARC JACOBS shot by Juergen Teller (who else)...you might not like her. You might love her. But you can't deny that these fashion campaign shots aren't a) eye catching, b) crazy and fun at the same time and maybe even weird, c) totally different from what other top top fashion brands are doing. Most fashion brands go for the "look how sexy you can be in these clothes...look at these perfect models...see how perfect they look and you, too, can look perfect" thing...which is so completely played out and YAWN. That's why I love these. I like HBC, though. I think she's a crazy good actress and I love people who have their own style. Even if it's not kitten and way out there on Mars.♡

THURS SHOE ♥ TOPSHOP VELVET SANDAL

These very gorgeous very girly very blush velvet sandals by TOPSHOP are so so pretty. I hope they bring the back again, because I think they may have sold out. They're actually called the Luxury Velvet Platform. There's something very 20s about them (1920s, that is) even though they aren't really 20s. I heart TOPSHOP.♡

WED WONDER ♥ DELLO RUSSO UNPACKING MAKES ME JEALOUS

Sigh. Anna Dello Russo's taste in clothes is just amazing. And I love love what she's wearing (I read in the comments on YouTube that her dress is designed by Victoria Beckham! Gasp! It's actually amazing!) and her hair. She doesn't have one of McQueen's dresses from the last collection...she owns TWO! Just amazing. I have loads of feathers and crazy pieces, but they aren't COUTURE like Dello Russo! She's at The Ritz, btw. See and sigh. Siiiigh.♡

WEDNESDAY BAG ♥ ROYAL BUS COIN PURSE

This is too cute. I love little bits like this. Anyone who knows me knows that. The kid in me never grew up so I love it when I find bits for adults that remind me of youth. Like this ROYAL BUS COIN PURSE by Monsoon. It's from the UK and sells for like 8£, which isn't much. And you can order it online, y'all.♡

I don't know about the full concept of this advert for the new Prada fragrance, Candy, but I do love the styling and hair (and hair color) of the girl and the art direction of the set. Gor-geous.♡

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ TOXIC NATURE

Yes, I am getting a little obsessed with Illamasqua and its  Creative Director Alex Box, who I just featured in a Geisha Week post. But there's good reason to love her because she is such a leader in her field and such a visionary talent. And I love a good marriage between company and talent...unlike so many companies who base their decisions on celebrity or hype, the smart ones out there know if you want your brand to soar, you need to pick the right peeps. What I wanted to showcase here, if you haven't already seen, if the gorgeous gorgeous amazing Toxic Nature campaign for Illamasqua cosmetics. Just so so so good. I love it. I love the entire thing. Plus the behind-the-scenes.♡

MAKEUP MONDAY ♥ GEISHA WEEK BONUS

I had to include this one last thing for GEISHA WEEK ON NANCY GIRL. Apparently a big Geisha beauty secret is...nightingale droppings! Yes, that means bird poop. I read a couple of places that it's been used for centuries to "keep skin smooth and fresh." And the nightingale droppings contain some enzyme that has a skin-lightening effect. And there are even spas who use this as a treatment! I read that this is not a quick fix. Rather, it's a life-long skin routine where you rub it onto your skin with warm water and then leave it and then rinse it off. I've heard about a lot of things, including abolone shells. But the fact that they've been using this for centuries is just strange. I mean, how did they figure this out centuries ago? Who was the first Geisha to try this skin miracle? Must work if it's been around this long.

a japanese nightingale! so cute!

Ok I have ONE more Geisha thing I have to include...I loved the Geisha Week a lot. There were so many gorgeous images to peruse through. I needed a 10-day week to showcase everything. Maybe in the future....so here is the one last, possibly, thing I'm going to have on here for GEISHA WEEK! The real MAKEUP MONDAY post will be up a bit later! It's a gorgeous one...do not miss out. And thanks for reading, lovelies! xx♡

A photo of BOY GEORGE as a Geisha! Love him.

SUN MATINEE ♥ TOWA TEI'S KYLIE GEISHA

GEISHA WEEK ENDS ON NANCY GIRL!

I'm not a Kylie fan, per se...well, I actually NEVER listen to Kylie Minogue at all and I never have. But I don't hate on her. But this video projection from her KYLIEX2008 tour was pretty pretty. I think her outfit was by Gaultier (of course), but the real credit goes to TOWA TEI for taking her into gorgeous Geisha world. See Towa Tei's video featuring Kylie first, and then check out the projection from the tour.

Who is Towa Tei? Towa was the Asian DJ from Deee-Lite! Love him.♡

♥ GIRL FRIDAY ♥ MAKEUP ARTIST ALEX BOX (AND GEISHAS) ♥

GEISHA WEEK ON NANCY GIRL!

MAKE UP GENIUS ALEX BOX is talented beyond words. So I won't say too many. She's the Creative Director (I think) for gorgeous makeup brand Illamasqua, which is a genius marriage. If you go through her work, you will see many many references to Geishas. I don't know if this is by coincidence (I don't think so) or if this intentional (I think so). Have a look and see for yourself.♡
